Center for Folk and Community Art

“Alive on South Beach”®™ is the most recognizable program produced under the umbrella of Center for Folk and Community Art (“CFCA”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. “Alive on South Beach”®™ was launched in 2011 as a man-on-the-street video series for Syndicated News Network (SNN.bz), where it first gained its production identity and audience. It has since grown into its own dedicated platform, AliveOnSouthBeach.com, while maintaining its direct connection to SNN.bz. That connection allows audiences to move between the two sites and helps expand visibility for both.

Today, AliveOnSouthBeach.com serves as the online home for CFCA’s full range of programs. These include Telling Stories Through Visuals community outreach projects, which combine writing, artmaking, video, and public dialogue; Train the Trainer outreach program for teachers and counselors to use with their student population; It’s Just a Conversation, a Zoombased series of thoughtful enlightenment interviews with accomplished people; and other cultural content including Emmy Awardwinning producer Barney Rosenzweig’s Entertainment Review commentary.

These programs, and more, make AliveOnSouthBeach.com a public media platform, a creative archive, and a central hub for advancing Center for Folk and Community Art’s mission, that being: To improve the human condition through visual storytelling, community participation, and accessible creative engagement.
